Modes of Payment to ABASS - Subscriptions/Donations/Ad-Hoc Contributions

Donations  of any kind made to Akhila Bharatha Ayyappa Seva Sangham should be in the form of a demand draft/cheque made out in the name of General Secretary, Akhila Bharatha Ayyappa Seva Sangham payable at Thiruvananthapuram. The purpose for which the donation is being made should be endorsed clearly on the  cheque/DD. For example, a donation towards building should be made payable to `The General Secretary, Akhila Bharatha Ayyappa Seva Sangham, Thiruvananthapuram (Building Fund A/c). Dispatch of donations through money order should be avoided as far as possible. The purpose of the donation should also be mentioned explicitly in the covering letter which should be enclosed with the DD/Cheque. 

Donations to Akhila Bharatha Ayyappa Seva Sangham are exempted from income tax under certain sections of the Income Tax Act.  This exemption has been granted under Section 80 G of the Income Tax Act 1961 vide order no 302/Tech/146/88 dated 06th May 1991 of The Commissioner of Income Tax, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. The necessary certificates/receipts, to this effect,  will be dispatched to the donor. So please mention  your postal address clearly.

Donations towards Annadanam can also be made in a unique way. Make a Fixed Deposit  of any amount (in multiples of Rs 500) in any branch of State Bank of Travancore and stipulate that the interest accruing periodically be remitted to the `Annadanam Fund of ABASS, Thiruvananthapuram'. In this way, the  principal amount continues to remain with the depositor while the interest comes to ABASS to support their Annadanam activities.
